Welcome to the Call for Workshop Proposals page for our 2025 Annual Conference in vibrant Manila! This year's theme, "UNITY IN DIVERSITY: Harmonizing SEL Standards, Mental Health, and Inclusive Practices," invites us to unite and celebrate our diverse backgrounds and strengthen schools worldwide.

Here, you’ll find all the information needed to submit your workshop proposals and contribute to our mission.


Proposal Formats:

  1. 75-Minute Workshop - Proposal Form  due October 1, 2024
  2. 3-Hour Deep Dive - Proposal Form due September 1, 2024

What We’re Looking For:


75-Minute Workshop:

  • Program Showcases: Highlight successful programs and initiatives.
  • Practical Tools: Provide hands-on tools and strategies for immediate application.
  • Student Competencies: Focus on developing key competencies as listed in the ISCA Student Standards.
  • Research-Backed Insights: Combine research findings with practical applications.
  • Implementation Processes: Detail how to implement and transfer programs to other schools.
  • Mental Health and SEL: Emphasize mental health practices and social-emotional learning (SEL) standards.
  • Inclusive Practices: Share strategies for creating inclusive and supportive environments.
  • Interactive Elements: Engage participants with discussions, activities, and collaborative learning.

3-Hour Deep Dive (very limited openings):

  • Immersive and Hands-On: Actively engage participants in learning and skill development.
  • Experiential Learning: Prioritize interactive activities and practice over traditional presentations.
  • Extended Opportunity: Provide time for reflection, application, and action planning.
  • Meaningful Dialogue: Encourage attendees to engage in significant discussions.
  • Integration into Practice: Ensure participants can apply what they learn to their own work.
  • Supportive Facilitation: Facilitators guide in a collaborative, peer-to-peer learning environment.

Selection Criteria:

  • Workshops should cater to diverse audiences (novice, intermediate, advanced) across different educational levels (elementary, middle, high school, administrative roles).
  • Attendees should gain 3-5 actionable insights blending theory, content, research, and best practice application.
  • Workshops must align with the conference theme, the ISCA Model and ISCA Student Standards and designated topic strands.
  • Workshops focusing exclusively on selling a product will not be considered.

If you are selected to present you will pay a special presenter fee for the Annual Conference. See registration information.



Special Note: By submitting a proposal you are confirming stating that if your workshop is accepted you will attend and present at the Manila Conference 2025. Registration and fees must be paid by November 1, 2024. Speakers are eligible for a special presenter fee. See the "Presenter Registration Policy" below.

PRESENTER REGISTRATION POLICY

ISCA places a high value on the skill and expertise of its presenters and views their participation as integral to the success of the ISCA event. ISCA strongly encourages presenters to attend and participate fully in the event. As such, all presenters are required to register for the event at which they are presenting. 

Individuals who have not registered and paid for by the November 1, 2024 are subject to removal from the workshop schedule.  Additionally, presenters who do not show up for their scheduled session and do not provide notification to ISCA Organizers may be subject to barring from future ISCA programs and events.
