Welcome to the 2027 ISCA Annual Conference in the vibrant city of Bangkok, where we gather with a shared intention: Holding On to What Matters most in our work and in ourselves.
This year’s theme—Holding On to What Matters—invites us to pause in the midst of change and reconnect with the values, relationships, and purpose that guide our work as school counselors and educators.
In today’s schools, complexity continues to grow. Students arrive with evolving needs, systems are constantly shifting, and expectations on professionals are increasing. Amid all of this, the challenge is not only how we respond—but how we remain grounded.
As international school counselors, we are often navigating uncertainty while supporting others through it. This conference is an opportunity to reflect, realign, and strengthen the foundations that sustain our practice—so that as we grow, we do not lose sight of what matters most.

What Does It Mean to Hold On to What Matters?
Inspired by the lotus flower, this year’s theme reflects the ability to grow through challenging conditions while remaining rooted and clear.
The lotus does not avoid the mud—it grows through it. It rises each day, grounded yet reaching toward the light, untouched by the conditions that surround it. In the same way, we are called to continue evolving in our roles while staying anchored in our purpose, our values, and our care for the communities we serve.
This theme challenges us to consider:
What do we choose to carry forward in our work?
What must remain constant, even as everything else changes?
How do we sustain ourselves while continuing to support others?
What does intentional, grounded growth look like in our schools?
Together, we will explore how to lead with clarity, sustain wellbeing, and make decisions that reflect what truly matters.
What are the practices, values, and approaches you continue to carry in your work?
Bring them to the 2027 ISCA Annual Conference in Bangkok. We’re inviting counselors and educators to share workshops that reflect what truly makes a difference—for students, for schools, and for ourselves as professionals.
Contribute to a space grounded in purpose, clarity, and meaningful growth.
