Key Features of ISCA Academy:
- Focus on Professional Growth: Courses are designed to enhance skills, expand knowledge, and deepen understanding of key counseling topics like mental health, social-emotional learning (SEL), cultural competence, and comprehensive counseling program development.
- Diverse Offerings: The Academy provides a mix of foundational courses (e.g., building comprehensive counseling programs) and advanced topics (e.g., culturally competent counseling, self-injury prevention, restorative practices).
- Flexible Learning: Options include live virtual synchronous sessions, asynchronous online courses, and some in-person trainings, making it accessible to counselors regardless of location or schedule. Courses range from 3 to 12 hours.
- Connection to ISCA Model and ISCA Student Standards: All courses align with the ISCA International Model, Professional Standards, ISCA Student Standards and Learning Progression, ensuring participants gain practical tools that can be directly applied in schools.
- Certificate Program: The ISCA Academy provides a pathway to earning the ISCA Certified Counselor designation through a targeted and comprehensive series of Academy courses. These courses offer essential training aligned with the ISCA Model and Standards, equipping participants with the skills to build and sustain comprehensive, preventative counseling programs that address the evolving needs of global school communities. The program offers two primary pathways: the ISCA Certified Counselor designation and the ISCA Specialization Certificate, which focuses on specialized areas relevant to supporting students and educators effectively.
