Social Emotional Learning (SEL) holds the promise of establishing the groundwork for lifelong well-being and success—if implemented effectively. This is a collective responsibility, involving learners, teachers, counselors, school leaders, and caregivers, to cultivate competency in skills across social-emotional, global perspective and identity development, academic, and career domains. Are we all operating from the same understanding of what these skills are? And what do these skills look like across different developmental levels from Pre-K through Grade 12?

Speakers:

Brooke Fezler

Brooke Fezler is the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the International School Counselor Association (ISCA). With 20 years of experience as a school counselor in US public schools and private international schools across six countries, Brooke is also the co-developer of the International Model for School Counseling Programs, published in 2011 and 2022. Additionally, she serves as an adjunct professor at Lehigh University and works directly with training new and experienced counselors.

Kristine Mizzone

Kristine Mizzone is the Learning and Development Coordinator for the International School Counselor Association (ISCA). She is also an educational consultant supporting schools in the areas of social emotional learning (SEL) and organizational leadership. She has served as both a teacher and school leader for nearly two decades in US public schools and private international schools. Most recently, Kristine served as the Director of Learning at Benjamin Franklin International School in Barcelona, Spain. Prior to that, she was the Curriculum and Professional Learning Coordinator at the International School of Beijing, China. She currently resides in Bangkok, Thailand.
