Supporting Identity Formation Amongst International School Students Using Narrative Therapy Techniques

June 7, 2023 @ 11:00-12:00 GMT

Narrative therapy tools and techniques will be presented as a proposed intervention for tackling the challenges of identity formation that have been found to impact International School Students (ISS’s; including TCK’s, expats, global nomads, etc.). ISCA’s new Global Perspectives and Identity standards will be incorporated in light of using narrative approaches for identity exploration in each school division. Activities and ideas for implementation into a counseling curriculum will be suggested per division. Participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm and share additional ideas that will be compiled into a shared resource folder.

Speaker: Nandi Blanchard

Nandi Blanchard is a third-culture kid (TCK) who grew up in Nairobi and attended the International School of Kenya. Nandi studied psychology for her undergraduate studies at the University of Edinburgh, during which time she completed a year abroad at the University of Queensland in Australia.
