The importance of professional learning can't be overemphasized, especially in a field as vital as education. Only by continually educating yourself with the latest research, techniques and knowledge in the profession can you hope to stay effective in your career.

ISCA offers a variety of opportunities to grow professionally. To learn about what we offer, please read below.

Collaborative 2021

Available to listen asynchronously until September 30, 2022

This annual professional development opportunity features 46 workshops available for you to listen and learn on your own time!

During September -November 2021 we had a variety of live presentation from high quality speakers and workshops that cover the breadth of an international school counselor’s role such as developing resilience and “upskilling” our counseling approaches for the current and post-Covid realities.  As advocates for student success, mental health and wellbeing, the Collaborative will empower you with strategies and tools to re-energize your work in schools.

ISCA Academy

Classes are running every month

ISCA Academy has been developed to meet the needs of counselors wanting to do more intensive training on specific topics and content areas. Through the array of courses offered at the ISCA Academy, school counselors will be able to upskill in areas expressed in the ASCA Professional Standards and Ethical Standards and Practices.  Whether you are new to the field or have years of experience, with this continued professional development offered in areas that are essential to our role as school counselors in international schools, not only will our profession be elevated but also our professional goals and action plans will be realized.

Our courses are based on best practice, are research-based and solutions-focused with ample discussion time to allow participants to share strategies or challenges and address questions or concerns.

Spring Circles start February 2022

We know that counselors are the heart of a school. When the heart is strong- your school stays healthy. Our Consultation Circles for School Counselors provide the training, care, and support counselors need to do their best work.

Linden mental health practitioners provide counselors with a confidential platform to discuss challenging cases, find creative solutions to difficult situations in their schools, and most importantly: to share what’s going well.

New Circles will start February 2022.

Ten to twelve times a year ISCA hosts webinars to keep you informed and engaged on relevant and important topics for school counselors or educators interested in learning more about mental health, wellbeing, social emotional learning in schools.

Webinars are always free to ISCA members. Additionally, recordings and resources will live our member website to access whenever you need! Non-members will pay a small fee to join an ISCA webinar and will be able to access the recording for up to two weeks.
